ROOTED IN SAFETY
GROUNDED IN COMPASSION
GROWING IN BELONGING
Healing Isn’t Linear
It’s a Spiral
Healing rarely moves in a straight line. We return to familiar patterns, emotions or memories—not because we’re failing, but because as safety grows, our nervous system allows us to revisit experiences from new vantage points. Each pass through the spiral offers new understanding and choice, because we’re able to meet these moments with more awareness, support and capacity than before. At Rooted Therapy, we meet you in these cycles, and will hold the torch of hope for you when it feels heavy to carry alone.
Virtual Therapy Serving New Yorkers
At Rooted Therapy, we work with people who have learned to put others first, hold themselves to high standards, and keep going even when it costs them. You may be intuitive and self-aware, yet find yourself stuck in familiar patterns of self-doubt, burnout, perfectionism, or feeling like you’re somehow falling short.
Our virtual practice, based in New York, supports sensitive people who are ready to break longstanding patterns and create relationships that feel less effortful and more secure. Drawing from psychodynamic psychotherapy, EMDR, and integrative somatic parts work, we help you release what’s old, reclaim your voice, and build a more trusting relationship with yourself and others.
A space for all identities. We welcome and affirm people of all races, genders, sexualities, and bodies, and practice from a decolonial, anti-oppressive framework. Unapologetically inclusive mental health care for BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ and allies alike.
Our Services
Holistic therapy helps you understand patterns in your emotions, relationships, and sense of self through the context of your life experiences, nervous system, identity, and relationships. Our approach is relational, integrative, and grounded in supporting deeper self-understanding, emotional healing, and lasting change.
Expressive arts therapy integrates music, creativity, and embodied expression into the healing process to support emotional expression, regulation, and self-understanding. We may incorporate songwriting, lyric analysis, playlists, movement, or other creative approaches to help you connect with experiences that may feel difficult to access through words alone.
EMDR intensives are longer, immersive therapy sessions designed to help you move through deeper healing work in a more focused and uninterrupted way. Instead of spreading EMDR processing across many weekly sessions, intensives offer the spaciousness needed to stay in the flow, process more fully, and experience meaningful shifts in a shorter period of time.
Have you been in talk therapy and feel like you have a good understanding of your patterns but still feel stuck in them? EMDR works on a deeper, neurological level, helping clients experience faster, more lasting relief from triggers, stress, and old wounds that still impact their daily life.
“Our approach is relational, integrative, and grounded in supporting deeper self-understanding, emotional healing, and lasting change.”
Somatic therapy is a body-centered approach that helps you tune into physical sensations, emotional responses, and nervous system patterns in real time. By working with the connection between mind and body, somatic therapy supports greater regulation, emotional awareness, and a deeper sense of safety and connection.
Parts work therapy helps you understand and heal the different protective parts of yourself, such as the inner critic, perfectionist, anxious, or avoidant parts. Through a compassionate, trauma-informed approach, this work supports greater self-trust, emotional balance, and more secure ways of relating to yourself and others.
Trauma therapy helps you process overwhelming experiences and long-standing emotional patterns that may leave you feeling anxious, disconnected, or stuck in survival mode. Using approaches like EMDR, somatic therapy, and parts work, we support your nervous system in healing so you can feel more grounded, connected, and emotionally steady.
